What is the difference between the model 1.0 and the model 2.0?
The original Butterfly (model 1.0) and the newer Butterfly (model 2.0) are very similar. The main differences are:
- Infant Insert
- Model 1.0 - built in infant insert
- Model 2.0 - removable infant insert
- Shoulder Strap Length
- Model 1.0 - 20"
- Model 2.0 - 22"
- Removable Head Rest (Sleeping Hood)
- Model 1.0 - flat shape
- Model 2.0 - contoured shape
I heard something about a recall. Is this affected?
There was a voluntary recall of the very first batch of Butterfly's produced back in January 2008, due to an issue with the buckles. All customers were contacted in February 2008 and the buckles of the recalled carriers were upgraded by Beco for free. The post-January 2008 Butterfly 1.0 design has buckles that are ultra-secure, the same ones that are also featured on the Butterfly 2.0. The new buckles require two hands to open.
All Butterfly 1.0 sold by babySNAZZ were produced post-recall, and are not affected. They include the upgraded safety buckles. We have now SOLD OUT of the model 1.0 Beco Butterflies
